Celsius to Kelvin Converter
Conversion Formula
K = °C + 273.15
| Celsius (°C) | Kelvin (K) | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 0 °C | 273.15 K | 0 + 273.15 = 273.15 K |
| 20 °C | 293.15 K | 20 + 273.15 = 293.15 K |
| 37 °C | 310.15 K | 37 + 273.15 = 310.15 K |
| 100 °C | 373.15 K | 100 + 273.15 = 373.15 K |
About Celsius to Kelvin Conversion
The Celsius (°C) and Kelvin (K) are two different scales for measuring temperature. The Celsius scale is commonly used for everyday temperature measurements, while the Kelvin scale is the SI base unit of temperature used in scientific contexts.
To convert Celsius to Kelvin, simply add 273.15 to the Celsius temperature. The Kelvin scale is an absolute temperature scale, meaning 0 K is absolute zero, the theoretical lowest possible temperature. Unlike Celsius and Fahrenheit, the Kelvin scale does not use the degree symbol (°).
